I finally got it working!

my obsidian sync finally works and I’m never touching it again (CS101 /s)

for months my “sync setup” was - edit stuff on windows, edit stuff on ubuntu through a mounted windows folder like an idiot, then boot into windows periodically so cloud storage can catch up with anything changed.

after running into issues with this multiple times, I wanted to fix it properly. but I had to use some workarounds since there’s no official cloud storage client for linux for the service I’m on. so I used a third party tool.

it should’ve taken 20 minutes ideally, but ideally.

first off, my vault was hiding in some cornered folder that apis don’t have access to. then timestamps between my laptop and cloud didn’t want to agree on what a millisecond is, but I got it fixed after some debugging with claude. then there were some auth token issues.

but finally.. I got it working!

Also, there’s a tiny green dot in my tray that shows sync status and it’s doing wonders for my cortisol.
